alisha + brian { married } sedona wedding

over christmas, alisha and brian's family got together. they decided, since they were all together, why not get married..? so, they had their immediate family attend their sweet and intimate wedding ... we're so excited to also be photographing their three points ranch wedding reception in austin, texas, in may :)

doesn't alisha look gorgeous? patricia vega did an amazing job on the hair and makeup ... i love how her styling is so soft and very romantic ...

everyone got ready at alisha's mom and dad's house ... the prep room had perfect lighting for photos and for makeup ... they all had their dogs there which i thought was so sweet!

alisha's dad was ever the protective dad and i thought this little series was soooo funny

during the portraits we always try to get a more real and candid shot ...

it was a pretty warm day for winter but it was still pretty chilly.... alisha and brian were troopers for getting through the day in the cold... this location is on schnebly hill and we've been dying to have some one get married here because it is so beautiful... lucky me that alisha took our suggestion

happy valentine's day

imagine our delight when getting this plate of cookies from our dear friend andrea at sedona cake couture ... she's of course known for her gorgeous and delicious cakes, but look at these cookies!

i wanted to photograph the cookie plate, but it was a few cookies short by the time we got to it, and the kids were just dying to eat them... let's just say they didn't last long ;) ( andrew also enjoyed dipping one, or two, or three of them in his coffee)

kate + norm { married } flagstaff wedding under the san francisco peaks

kate and norm are hotshots... they go out and fight all those crazy wildfires. they decided to have their flagstaff wedding under the san francisco peaks at their training camp. it's so sweet that they picked a location that was so sentimental to them, and where they have spent so much time.

their wedding was relaxed, beautiful, and so very, very personal. all the details can be credited to kim duncan, of kd events ... she is a must-have at weddings as she really does an amazing job creating themed details that pull together an event.

we were so very lucky that this noon wedding ( ...all photographers can tell you that midday is the *worst* time to get married because of the harsh light) had a canopy to soften the light. kate's sister is our good friend cameron (who is a fabulous photographer) and she was able to talk kate into adding this for photos ... so be sure to check out the amazingly gorgeous canopy and reception canopy kim duncan arranged! thank you gals! it made all the difference!

kate got ready at cameron's house, who of course has fabulous photographs on her walls...

awww... the two sisters! cameron ended up having a gorgeous baby girl... she was just short of her due date at the wedding.

this amazing canopy saved the day and cut the harsh mid day light ... it is functional, beautiful, and tres chic ...

we *love* to get family candids during the ceremony ... this one was full of tears of joy and laughter

this series made me laugh out loud when i was editing ... the first is norm getting teary eyed... followed by a glance to his wife ... followed by the hand .... sooooo cute!

another series... the shot to the left is andrew's (kate and her dad dancing) and the shot on the right is katrina's (kate's mom watching them dance) ... it's great in that it shows two moments occurring simultaneously...
