i stumbled upon this image that was shot at one of my favorite locations to shoot in sedona... while the shot originally didn't make the wedding highlights slideshow, the bride selected it for her album. the extra attention in the post processing made me notice the image more. we think it is a great example of how the red rocks can look great in black and white ... this image might make the new website portfolio!

amy + john { seven canyons resort wedding }

back in march we had the honor of photographing amy and john's beautiful wedding in sedona. we hadn't yet blogged this wedding so we thought we'd share a few of our favorites with you!

amy's earring had broken and jb at sedona luxury weddings luckily was there to run and get it fixed twice! it's always so nice to have a planner to help make the day run smoothly. the wedding day was flawless.



trolley's are so fun for wedding day transportation in sedona! amy had her own trolley she took with her friends and family and john has a groom's trolley. so cute!



their theme was butterflies (which is a wildly poplar theme for weddings right now) so andrea at sedona cake couture created some beautiful sugar butterflies and sugar flowers to top their cake which perfectly matched their guest book and ring bearer pillow.

we're always surprised at how sedona cake couture and events by showstoppers magically get their floral to perfectly match the cake colors.



we love the architecture of the buildings in seven canyons ... blow are pictures of the range house at seven canyons resort where amy and john had their intimate dinner reception.











we had the kids gather the rose petals from the rose petal carpet and throw them on amy and john.. the kiddos loved it!





wedding portraits at rachel's knoll ... gorgeous 360 degree panoramic views!







we love to get an image that gives a sense of space and buildings always look fabulous after the sunsets and the sky turns blue! ... one last favorite shot of amy and john in their trolley back to their hotel... a perfect ending to a perfect day.

5 year anniversary { portraits in sedona }

when kristin and daniel contacted us they had planned on an elaborate 5 year anniversary trip. they had decided on sedona for their getaway and we're so glad they did. what a great idea to plan on getting photos taken every few years! happy anniversary kristin and daniel!!!

even though sedona looks gorgeous in color ... it's beautiful in black and white too!

kristin loved the "wind blown" look of the juniper trees so i used the long lines of the tree for a frame ... kristin had even arranged for a pretty purple bouquet for the photo session through bliss floral which added a nice pop of color in the images. what a great idea to add floral for anniversary portraits.

my favorite image from the session ... kristin and daniel have such great chemistry together ... even after 5 years of marriage! :)

another fabulous idea kristin had was to have an anniversary cake! sedona sweet arts created the cake below to match the flower dragonflies piped on the sides of the cake. kristin brought two pretty dragonfly broaches to match the cake to the flowers. she is so super thoughtful and i can only imagine how fabulous their wedding details must have been.

after our photo session they returned to l'auberge de sedona for a romantic creekside dinner. what a perfect end to the day!

everything turned out so sweet and we are so happy for you both! thank you for letting me spend part of your 5 year anniversary day with you!!

becky + eric { sedona wedding at los abrigados }

becky waited patiently for eric to return her, and his daughter ella, from war. while eric was deployed, she and he made big plans for their wedding, which would be an intimate gathering of close friends and family in sedona.

becky is graphic artist, and so designed the wedding herself. we found it to be very well done!

we were honored to be a part of their wedding celebration, and we wish them years of happiness :)

..i ( andrew) was particularly emotional upon seeing this soldier, groom, husband, loving dad, dancing with his daughter... they love each other so much and you can really see it in every interaction she has with him, and he with her...

this was also an emotional moment, and really summed up all the work and anticipation that came into play for this wedding.. they both really worked hard to get to this moment, and i was very happy for them..

we would like to say a ' THANK YOU!' to all members of the armed forces for the sacrifices you make to keep us safe....
