arizona wedding at l'auberge de sedona { kathy + ari }

Great thing for Kathy and Ari that Sedona weddings are still beautiful in weather! Rain, rain, rain… It was raining on their first date, raining on the day Ari proposed to Kathy and so it would only make sense that it would rain on their wedding day. Andrew and I looked at the forecast a few days before their wedding and it said 70-80% chance of rain … everyone in Arizona knows when it says 30%, or 40%, or even 50% chance of rain, it's just scattered showers and probably wont' rain. But at 70% chance we knew it was a storm and when I spoke to Kathy she was so laid back and completely not worried. That's what we LOVE about our clients. All she cared about was that she was marrying a man she loved so deeply. Despite the weather, Kathy and Ari were all smiles on their wedding day. As documentary wedding photographers, we adore couples that live in the moment and really enjoy life. Kathy and Ari did just that on their wedding in Sedona.

Teagan at L'Auberge de Sedona was amazing and let them wait until the last second to choose between trying to have their wedding outside by the creek where they originally planned, or to move in indoors… they even set up umbrellas from the restaurant, which covered most of the chairs. We have worked weddings at all sorts of Arizona wedding venues and resorts, and out of state as well, and L'Auberge always is in the top of the top in regards to service. Not many venues would set up both ceremony sites and let coupes make a decision so late in the day. Thank you Teagan and Raymond at L'Auberge for being so accommodating!

When it came down to making the decision it was raining pretty hard, so they moved it indoors to the lodge where they would have a beautiful ceremony on a wonderful stairway. When it came time for their wedding ceremony to begin the rain stopped and they had a beautiful ceremony officiated by Shanandoah Sterling in the warmth of the lodge.

Kathy beamed all day and was just stunning. Despite the heavy rain during their romantic portraits Kathy and Ari were troopers and just had so much fun together! You can see in the images why they are so meant to be. They truly do love each other so deeply it can be felt by being in the presence and through the images. Thank you Kathy and Ari both for being so open and warm with wearing your love on your sleeves. We are so happy for you both! Thank you, thank you for having us be a part of such a wonderfully wet and beautiful day!!!

l'auberge de sedona wedding { michele+marc }

l'auberge de sedona wedding { michele+marc }

Michele and Marc's wedding day came together beautifully, with Michele beginning her preparation in her rustic L'Auberge de Sedona Oak Creek cabin. Hair and makeup artist extraordinaire Patricia Vega arrived and performed her magic. Anticipation grew as Michele got ready to see her handsome groom Marc for the first time that day! She got into her wedding gown and put on the final touches. With her beautiful flower bouquet in hand, by fabulous floral artist Amy Mills, she stepped out to meet Marc along the edge of Oak Creek!

Michele was revealed to Marc, and they spent some private time embracing before their wedding ceremony. When it was time, the bride and groom were staged and the ceremony, complete with the red rock backdrop that Sedona promises, began! Shanandoah Sterling, Sedona wedding officiant, performed the very personal ceremony for Michele and Marc. They exchanged their vows, and their wedding rings, and tied the knot!

After a lot of hugs, smiles, tears, and a few formal pictures at the ceremony site, family and friends made their way back down to L'Auberge's flagstone patio at the Creek-house. Dining tables adorned with the floral artistry of Amy Mills sat underneath an array of old world bistro lighting. Shortly after, dinner was served! Thank you asking Katrina to document your day, Michele and Marc!
